The Quarter Moon brings tension. In the sign of Libra it triggers the outer planets, Uranus and Pluto. Because these two are in Aries and Capricorn respectively, every time the moon moves into a cardinal sign we are enter “points of friction”. How deeply this affects you has to do with your personal astrology, or you may notice that people around you have hairpin triggers. Early morning can feel heavy as insurmountable situations dominate thoughts.
You can choose to chant the Serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Most people know that first part of the prayer, especially anyone who has had dealings with 12 Step programs. The second part of the prayer may be more problematic for people who don’t see a God, or see God as male, or accept there is an afterlife. Yet, perhaps the prayer is a reminder that all we have is the present, that the hard in hardships increase when we resist what they teach us and that happiness is in the end a state of mind. The second part of the prayer can also be seen metaphorically:
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen. –Reinhold Niebuhr
Begin your morning with some kind of spiritual hygiene: pray, meditate, morning pages, journaling, yoga, tai chi. Too often we leap from dream state to fast forward with no transition time. As a result, we disempower the unconscious. We switch channels from the part of our mind that allows us to fly, live in alternate universes and magical realms.
Through conscious courting of the tranquil mind in the awake world, we bridge the two and strengthen our ability to bring wishes into reality.
Since this is a rocky day, the more attention you can pay to reconciling any disparate agendas, the more peaceful you are within it. Stay alert to morning disagreements and iron them out as consciously as possible. Don’t allow yourself to get swept up in familiar undertows. You decide what your response is, but only if you step away with perspective.
Harmony is possible by mid-morning with an overall sense of well-being. This is amplified when you do what’s necessary to keep an even keel. By early afternoon a sudden revelation or upset may throw plans; you benefit from conversations with all people involved.
There are many opportunities vying for attention right now and the right decision helps to concentrate energy in one direction. Decisiveness increases by evening. Expect a power surge which you can use for work or fun, depending on your mood. Whatever you do, don’t let it channel into anger and if you feel someone near you is erupting, disengage until the steam subsides.
