Columbus Day is not the holiday it was when I was a child, which is a good thing. Since history was written by the victors, the civil rights movements of the 50s and 60s created an avenue for greater exploration of certain “facts”.

It is possible that more education and communication is revealed today, either about American history or another matter requiring equal say. Certainly the fact that certain states are celebrating “Indigenous People Day” may start rich dialog.

Discussions work through a lot of dissent with much less effort than usual. Use this morning to cut through a deal or broach a difficult topic. The Moon is void-of-course/voc* as of 1:58 p.m. ET.

Once the moon enters Cancer at 7:30 p.m., the mood may shift as an increase of emotional content floods discussions. Feelings can be raw, which can hit you by surprise regardless of if they are yours or those of someone close to you.

Tact is required. Sometimes it is better to offer a willingness to listen than to attempt to volunteer an opinion. Often when tender feelings are first revealed, they need a harbor to be more than a flurry of solutions. Head nodding and hand holding can convey more than words.

Whether or not big emotions are part of it, this is an evening best spent at home or by water. If business or travels find you on the road, a bath can antidote restlessness.

… more about a void moon…

*Moon VOC/Void-of-Course… in Gemini, conversations can be particularly misunderstood; avoid important correspondence or phone calls. Gather information. Listen. Great time to clean out old emails and tidy up your desktop.
