The Libra New Moon occurs at 2:14 a.m. ET. This high stakes New Moon on the tail of the Autumn Equinox may start with a sensation of floating; you know where you want to go, you’re just not sure how to get there. Uncomfortable or inexplicable undercurrents may haunt conversations in the evening.
Don’t be deterred by what may seem difficult; as long as the lines of communication stay open, you will get to resolution. Sometimes a “pros” and “cons” list can help define the conflict or stresses.
The Libra New Moon classically involves partnerships. You can approach someone new or come to terms with a relationship. This can be either business or romantic partnerships. If someone is in your life, this is a good time to focus on the positive and reassess the negative, ideally on both sides. If you want to bring in a relationship of any stripes, this is a perfect time to list your needs and desires.
Friday and the weekend may be more direct action oriented, but there is a lot to be said for your writing down your wishes today.
The Sabian Symbol** for the degree of this Libra New Moon is “Light of the sixth race transmuted to the seventh”. This may win the award for the most esoteric of the Sabian Symbols. In simple translation, as a global and technical society we are in the “sixth root” of human culture (according to occultists) whereas the seventh is the climatic manifestation.
Each individual is seen as having potential for his/her ultimate manifestation. Lofty words perhaps, but the symbolic phrase is fascinating in the context of this rather quiet time as we come off the Autumn Equinox. What do I mean by “quiet time”? 400,000 people just marched in NYC to bring attention to climate change; hundreds more put their bodies on the line to stop Wall Street on the Equinox. The U.S. begins to bomb Syria. This does not feel quiet, and yet it is gathering. There is more to come.
There is not a lot of geometric action in the sky which is the indicator for tension and strife. Rather the indications are for an internal process that gets charged through greater human connection. You may personally feel as though this is a very rocky time for you in relationship, which would be reflected in your own natal horoscope and where the planets are now.
But in general terms of planetary weather, it may be a perfect time to choose or work with your partners carefully without a lot of distraction. In other words, even though there is a lot going on, one can focus with laser concentration at this time. Choose your passion; choose your cause. ** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them.
