A message may come in through a dream; problem is, what seems like an epiphany in the wee hours may be indecipherable come morning.

A Mercury/Saturn picture in the sky may compel some to rise early and work through the thought. Regardless of when you rise, this can be a powerhouse day, so know your intentions. Romance and/or creativity percolate.

The Scorpio Full Moon occurs exactly at 11:42 p.m. ET.

All full moons quicken a desire to culminate a task or fulfill a goal. A revelation may come. How profound the revelation is has everything to do with what area of life the moon’s fullness lights up in your birth horoscope. The sense of integration or fulfillment doesn’t necessarily occur exactly at the time of a full moon, but there is value in the conscious acknowledgement of your intended design.

This Full Moon gathers its light from the Taurus Sun and symbolizes the integration of the material into transformational goals.

IMG_5453The Sabian Symbol** for the Taurus Sun is: “On The Beach, Children Play While Shellfish Grope At The Edge Of The Water”. This image puts me in mind of sand crabs. My toddler daughter delighted when I explained the little bubbles were the trail left by those tiny creatures when the sea foam receded. We spun around counting how many popped up at our feet with each lap.

Yet around the same age as I waded in the water with her floating in my arms, she spied a large crab not far from my feet. I knew the crab was more interested in scuttling away than attacking, but its claws impressed her. As a result, it took years before she would swim in the ocean. Finally resistance lost when a troop of cousins threw themselves into the waves and she ran to join them.

This story relates how our comfort with the known prevents us from the deep-sea diving that brings greater awareness. Shellfish and crabs symbolize our primordial beginnings.

In an evolutionary context, we all come from the great waters, although that truth is in our ancestral past. Those primitive creatures remind us of the parts of ourselves we keep in the darkness, the instinctual parts. They pull us out of what we consider our true selves when we react without thinking or fall into addictive behaviors.

We are all prey to this tug, whether we drink more than is smart or lose ourselves on the computer. To resist the claw of the crab is to deny the tendency to stay where we are comfortable.

This Scorpio Full Moon offers the opportunity to dive into the surf: invite the conversation or take that step to challenge your comfort zone. Eventually the familiar becomes a greater threat than what is unknown.

The Sabian Symbol** for the Scorpio Moon is: “Telephone Lineman At Work Installing New Connections”.

There is an emphasis to analyze any communications that may come your way, especially if one unseats you. There’s a great deal of buzz out there, but a true revelation is a treasure, no matter how initially unsettling it may be.

Remember that to share your soul and listen to another requires concentration and a willingness to take risks. What is the correct electrical connection that ignites the conversation?

Rote small-talk seldom reveals new insight; you have to be willing to dig, to experiment with new territory. If you have a goal concerning investments, legacy, therapy or intimacy, take a break to ritualize and focus.

Jupiter is making an exact 90° angle (square) to this lunation, which often signifies a lot comes at you. You can choose to stay in the comfy seat and watch the show, or you can jump into the action. Neither way is right but what is important is whether you take a passive or active role, that you are plumbing deeply into the heart of whatever you resist.

You may not conquer the world today but the opportunity for greater self-awareness is available.

The Scorpio Full Moon invites decisions on what to recycle and re-evaluate. If you can do this, allow yourself whatever release you need to make it happen. You can anticipate a renewed outlook as we move into the waning moon cycle.

** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
