Forecast 11/3 The end of Daylight Savings Time brings the Scorpio New Moon (at 7:50 AM ET).
This is a particularly powerful Scorpio New Moon (also a Solar Eclipse) as it activates and stimulates unconscious motivations. Be hyper-alert as to how you react to situations and ask yourself “why”. These are the seeds of conscious clarity.
Regenerative energy is emphasized as the Moon gathers the purpose of the North Node in the wee hours of the morning. Complete any “old business” still in your head in a heartbeat; it’s time to move on from any addiction, obsession or grievance that has held you back. Mars (symbolizes desire) in Virgo supports intentions with a “take action” mandate. You might be suddenly seized by strong drive. Jot down any thoughts as to direction. Depending on your personal horoscope, you may be charged with a warrior’s “no surrender” stake in the outcome. Regardless of how intensely you feel this, draft out your strategy for a successful month and beyond.
The planet Saturn is in line with this eclipse. Saturn (symbolizing limits, fears) is never a comfortable connection to have with the Moon (emotions), in this context it shows strength through resolve. Jupiter (promotes expansiveness) in Cancer and Neptune (highest octave of love) in Pisces send waves to buoy up the dark intensity of Scorpio. Water signs: Scorpio, Pisces, Cancer, intensify our ability to feel what is going on with another and within. Transformation is inevitable, but it can be done with grace.
Make time for your New Moon ritual and set goals today, even if simply in your mind’s eye you picture a sprouting seed. This New Moon has an engine behind it that can propel you to the change or transformation for which you hunger.
On its own, the Scorpio New Moon speaks of fresh starts in sexual relationships, investments, shared resources, occult study or any psychological/ therapeutic work. It is also a profound time to revisit your perceptions of death, loss and potential (birth).
If you want to conceive, make love. At least focus on the magic of conception, whether for a child or any creative endeavor. Include those thoughts and visions into your ritual.
The Sabian Symbol** for this New Moon is: “An embassy ball”. This image conjures formal ritual as spectacle. Is this a contrast to the private revelations so seminal to Scorpio’s ability to reshape itself? Imagine your goals or desires as dancers at a ball. Do they have the ability to captivate the rich and powerful? Can you aid a timid dancer to come forward? An embassy is an ambassador’s home on foreign soil. Your goal may feel as though you’ve planted yourself on strange land with a diplomatic mandate. Whatever role you can imagine yourself in, remember, it is a party! Dance with enthusiasm and you attract an audience.
The Solar Eclipse emphasizes the seed sprouting potential of any visions, ideas or goals generated at this time. Conventional wisdom suggests you don’t launch an endeavor on a New Moon, especially when it’s an eclipse, however, this is so beautifully charged, I suggest that you launch the wish list if not the actual endeavor.
