Second Aquarius New Moon of 2015
Once in a black moon? Not a common phrase, but a Black Moon is the 2nd New Moon in a calendar month, or in this case, when a new moon occurs in the same sign as the one it succeeds.
Most of February 18, 2015 swirls with Dark of Moon energy. Don’t be surprised if invitations and ideas bubble up because the creative cauldron is so full! The goddess Hecate stands at the crossroads: the nebulous period before an action is put in motion. You need never be afraid of the Dark when Hecate has your back.
Ash Wednesday brings this second Aquarius New Moon for 2015. Last month’s Aquarius New Moon had tremendous juice for establishing loving community. This New Moon indicates that its time to put your shoulder to the wheel; take responsibility for the vision and it will take off. Refresh your memory as to the roots of that vision and general themes for an Aquarius New Moon.
This Aquarius New Moon is at a “critical degree” because just seconds later it dips into the sign of Pisces. It suggests that the conceptual and intellectual arrogance of our technological age must dissolve into a spiritual awareness ASAP. Anything in your life that feels it is at its “tipping point” may be about to turn over to the other side.
To add to the weight of this New Moon, its Sabian Symbol** is one of the most cryptic: “Deeply Rooted In The Past Of A Very Ancient Culture, A Spiritual Brotherhood In Which Many Individual Minds Are Merged Into The Glowing Light Of A Unanimous Consciousness Is Revealed To One Who Has Emerged Successfully From His Metamorphosis”. Whew! This supports an increased possibility of like minds coming together for spiritual growth and collective consciousness.
You might use the seed of the New Moon to seek a group of people with whom you feel a cord of connectivity and work for a greater good. It is not so much about finding the right tribe as to pare down to the root of what matters to you most for this success. Strive daily for greater self-awareness and peace. We all slip, but it’s the picking up and continuing to strive that is the Hero’s Journey.
The void-of-course/voc* moon briefly occurs at 6:47 p.m. ET, but before the minute has ended, the moon moves into Pisces! This is rare and speaks to how quickly things are changing.
The Sun enters Pisces right after this at 6:50 p.m. This is a highly unusual New Moon, because it occurred at the tale end of Aquarius, but within 3 minutes creates a Piscean aura. It’s like a test-tube occurrence that leads to a mystical process. Let the science or logic of the mind lead you to fantastic heights. This lends itself to a dreamy evening for creative stimulation and deep meditation.
Keep in mind, that whatever project you want to get off the ground in this Lunar Cycle, the next few days are remarkably rich for growth. If abundance is part of that, click here for abundance check information.
*Moon VOC/Void-of- Course:… in Aquarius you are apt to get caught up in a discussion or a cause which has no resolution. This is an excellent time to visit with friends or bounce around ideas, for pure recreation. If you find that communication is thin, it may be time to reconsider the relationship.
** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
