Father’s Day is on the Summer Solstice this year.
Obligations may weigh on this first day of summer with pressure from all sides. Children may feel responsible to pay homage to fathers; fathers may feel more constricted than able to kick back.
For those who have lost a father, reminiscence and/or grief may demand reflection; allow yourself this time if that is your impulse because suppression is not a good option today.
Those with no family ties may feel another source of duty: from work, someone’s expectations or a contractual agreement. You may experience an inexplicable sense that someone wields power over someone else.
This doesn’t mean that fun is unavailable today. The trick is that if you do feel a bit at the mercy of a situation, then ride with it.
Circumstances do not improve if you refuse to adjust your perspective.
The moon goes void-of-course/voc*at 12:09 p.m. ET.
On its heels the Sun enters Cancer at 12:38 p.m., the Summer Solstice. The entrance into the cardinal water sign of Cancer officially begins summer, when nostalgia for lazy days of childhood tugs on the work routine.
If your summer plans are not totally fleshed out, don’t sweat it – over the next few days it’s as though the great gears of the wheel shift into this new alignment of “summer”. People may race to “hurry up” but the give isn’t there yet.
So relax as much as possible and know you can accelerate more easily in a few days.
The moon enters Virgo at 12:59 p.m. which sets the mood to exercise routines that allow continuity and connection.
Later in the day a picture with Venus/Pluto may indicate you have to accommodate a demand. Something may have a strong magnetic pull, almost beyond your control. Be especially alert in matters of the heart and/or finances.
Overall, some tension between what you’d like to do and what you should do may exist and time helps you figure out how to reconcile this.
Remember that things go more smoothly in a few days, so put things in place if possible, but hold back on action.
*Moon VOC/Void-of-Course… in Leo, you do well to play: window-shop, go to a museum or performance, flirt, and make some artwork. Get in touch with a spirit of generosity; warm people with compliments. Observe whether or not you get the appreciation you require and if not, give yourself a lift. More about the Moon VOC
