Forecast 5/9/2013 Venus enters Gemini at 11:03 a.m., which shifts the cycle of what attracts and gets our attention from the lush texture of early spring into the busyness of neighborhood happenings and gatherings.

The build up to the eclipse at 8:28 p.m. ET may present a whirlwind of opportunities and activities.

If you’re struggling to decide where to put your energy and focus, it might be time to slow down. Eclipses can open a new path, but you might not even notice it if you’re running too fast. All opportunities are not equal and a decision may be required. The biggest decision may be to wait until more information presents itself. Definitely make time for your New Moon wishes, regardless of what other plans you have today.

The Taurus New Moon is at 19°31” with a Sabian symbol** of “Wind, clouds and haste”.

This is such a radically different symbol than the tranquil bull of Taurus that I double-checked my notes as I wrote it down. It certainly captures the energy of this eclipse, with Venus’ turn into the seduction of Geminian distractions. This is not necessarily a negative, if you don’t feel caught up in the haste but are more an agent of it.

Keep in mind the etymology of the word: broadcast (one of Geminis symbols). Broadcast originally had to do with spreading seeds, which of course is the essence of New Moon energy. So even a little movement can go a lot farther than you think. That’s why it’s so important to act with methodical consciousness at this time.

As with every New Moon, make your list of what you’d like to make happen over the next couple of weeks. Taurus is especially strong for anything that has to do with your personal finances, personal appearance and your overall sense of where to put your muscle. This is good for long-haul outcomes, as well as short-term revamps.

So if you’ve been wanting a fresh look for your home or wardrobe, this is a good time. Definitely look at your financial health to see if it matches your long-term goals. Time to nurture your inner and outer garden.

At 8:28 pm ET, the moon goes void-of-course* through the next day.

Join me to dig into the new moon energy at the Center for Aligned Healing in Chappaqua on Thursday May 9 at 7 pm. Group work is a terrific way to grab the reigns of a volatile eclipse. If you intend to come, please RSVP and if you prefer to use PayPal, you reserve your space through the process. Do that here.

*Moon VOC/Void-of-Course… in Taurus, relaxation is demanded. You can try to accomplish a big task, but that couch looks awfully inviting. Give in and let yourself enjoy a leisurely lunch and your productivity will increase afterwards.

** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
