The Taurus New Moon occurs at 2:14 a.m. ET. It is a Solar Eclipse. The Sabian Symbol** for this New Moon is: “A Christmas Tree decorated”.

This may seem to be a crazy image so soon after Easter, but since it is the New Moon after the Cardinal Cross, it is a reminder of the Light and rebirth. Once again, regardless of your religious practice, the evergreen in winter covered with lights is a reminder that out of the darkness, light and foliage will be restored.

This symbol is associated with Taurus, which occurs in the spring, far away from the time of Christmas trees. Yet the image of Christmas present from the Dickens’ tale, is very much a Taurean image. He brings bounty and inspires gifts and banquets. After last week’s journey, what is your wish?

What do you want to bring about with this New Moon, which is about physical manifestation? Taurus is the sign connected to the material, money, possessions and your body.

Today can feel a bit like Christmas, if you want to take advantage of the overall mood to chat, share and give. A Mercury/Pluto picture in the afternoon adds the ability to solve a mystery or get to the heart of a matter.

Therapy can be revelatory. You may be able to articulate something that you’ve been struggling with for some time. Ventures birthed at this time have a good chance of doing well. Eclipses stir up a great deal of volatility; it is not ideal to start something now, but you can certainly map it out in your heart and intention.

Late evening may bring up a sense of lack, but it’s better to sleep on it than worry; the problem may solve itself in the light of day.

I have posted this before the new moon eclipse, so that you can take advantage of the gathering energy. If you can join me in Rye for the physical gathering, so much the better! Register and information here

** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
