Cancer New Moon: Forecast 7/19/12 The Cancer New Moon occurs at 12:24 a.m. ET at 26°55” on 7/19.
Directly after this, the moon is VOC* until 6:13 a.m. when it enters the sign of Leo. The Sabian Symbol** for this moon is “A storm in a canyon”.
This is beautiful image conjures a womb of the Earth, a canyon…. but it has a storm in it. As the last movement before the moon goes void, it reminds us of the tumult of this time on the planet.
Yet the storm is depicted in a canyon, suggesting containment. Canyons by their nature are empty vessels so the tension of the storm can create change and/or a birth of something new. Pay attention to whatever dreams may come through and/or use the night before to put a wish or vision under your pillow.
Once the moon enters Leo at 6:13 a.m., it’s as though the sun breaks through to dry up all the rain and to bake away the mud. Exuberance and potential shine and the next few days are poised to begin new ventures (while taking the Mercury retrograde in account).
In other words, depending on your enterprise or event, these are auspicious days. Still, only sign contracts that you have well studied before the retrograde. If any deal involves communication arts, childcare, neighbors or electronics, you might be better off waiting until August 8.
*Moon VOC/Void-of- Course… in Cancer; be by the water, time with family or sifting through memorabilia. Enjoy a picnic or meal with no time constraints.
** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360∞ of the
zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
