Forecast 6/23 The Sagittarius Moon goes void-of-course VOC* at 3:08 a.m. until 4:08 a.m. ET.
The Capricorn Full Moon occurs at 7:32 a.m. ET at 2°9”. This is called a supermoon, because it is so close to the Earth. Full Moons call to integrate the disparate energy of opposing signs. Although this is challenging, and perhaps more so depending where it falls in your horoscope, it is also an opportunity to bridge. Consider it an “in your face” Supermoon opportunity.
In this case, the Sun in Cancer (which shines on matters concerning the home and family matters) throws light on the Capricorn Moon’s emphasis on security. This particular date indicates a fierce mandate to do the right thing. Spiritual reflection leads to resolution, but not without sacrifice. When the decision is a conscious one and fully debated, it might be easier to swallow. Avoid irrevocable agreements.
The Sabian Symbol** for the Sun is “A man all bundled up in fur leading a shaggy deer”. Since deer are not typically pets, this is a curious image; the deer’s fur may be molting, which would happen in the spring yet the man is bundled up. The symbol increases the tension of integration that is present. There are things you may hold close that have emotional attachments, yet the logic in retaining them is in direct contrast to your instinctual needs (the deer).
The man clings to his furs either because he is loathe to part with them or he is not yet tuned in to the change of season. The deer sheds layers through a natural process, yet it is the deer that is being led. Usually when a human leads an animal valued for its hide and meat, it will not live its natural lifespan.
To analyze this symbol more, let’s look at the symbol for the Moon, which is “The human soul receptive to growth and understanding”.
This leads to great optimism for the deer’s longevity, since it encourages thoughts of integration. How do we balance the tension of the human desire for dominance with the natural order of our planet? This is not simply an environmental discussion, but also something to evaluate within you at this Full Moon. How do you balance the tension of your work/status aspirations and nurture your needs? Does one lead the other? When your soul is properly reconciled with the force of your will, it allows greater peace within and without. ©Cucinell 2013- all rights reserved
*Moon VOC/Void-of-Course… in Sagittarius you may want to explore but don’t expect to find anything… keep your eye on the gas tank if you go for a long ramble.
** We are still in the process of understanding the Sabian symbols, which were channeled in 1925. The spiritualist astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, took Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant confined to a wheelchair to a San Diego park with a project. He put a symbol for each of the 360° of the zodiacal wheel on 360 cards. She proceeded to come up with visual phrases for each one of them. They were done in random order and they have a magic that is hard to decipher, yet feels totally right.
