5/18/2010 You may wake with a little tension, or feel as though you don’t have enough: time, money, love. Then again, if you’re going through an emotional period, today may heighten the intensity.

I remember a therapist during my divorce helped me function since frankly, I was a puddle. However, it was a trance medium who gave me the perspective that shifted the despondency inside of me. When I told the therapist what he’d said and how I integrated it, she said: “I didn’t think you were ready to hear that.”

I do remember her saying: “feelings are like clouds, they pass.” I have always considered that when I’m in a difficult place, but tonight I found the full quote. Not surprisingly, the words come from one of my teachers, Thich Nhat Hanh. I am now wondering if she knew that or had any Buddhist leanings. She was a very opaque therapist.

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
— Thich Nhat Hanh

When the moon is in Cancer like today, you may be feeling especially vulnerable, or raw, or edgy. If you’d been feeling a bit of any of that, it should lighten as the day goes on.

There are many possibilities of opportunities, rewards, inspiration and focused work that can make you hum with activity. If you feel at all out of sorts, give yourself a little nurturing: a special iced tea, an escape to a view or a hug from someone you love (and that can be a self-hug!)

The moon is VOC* from 4:35 to 5:06 pm ET when it enters Leo. You might get an impulse to put on your party clothes and go dancing, hear music or plan an elegant meal just for you; candlelight suggested. If you do go out (or have people in) there are signs that good connections with solid footing can be made.

*Void of Course: the moon will make no other geometric connection to any planet before it moves into the next sign. More about VOC.
